A few short weeks ago we decided(over a couple of fresh baked cookies, of course) to take a look at this thing called Social Media & Social Networking to see if we had a place to play. It did not take long to see that 1.) YES! without doubt we can have some fun with this. 2.) Wow... this is pretty cool, and tricky all at the same time. 3.) What a great tool! Now let's jump on in!
It has essentially given us the ability to communicate with, well, anyone and everyone that might be interested. Better yet, it is all real time and we have learned that it is highly interactive. We've connected with some great people and through them, connected with more great people and so on and on and on.
That is a pretty cool thing about the power of Social Media. If what have is worth sharing, then shared it will be!
Our case and point: take @Ed from
Twitter. A local guy who was with Twitter from the early days(hence the cool account name of @Ed, you'd have to be one of the first to get your own name). He is a huge Boston Sports fan and saw that we provide cookies for the Boston
Red Sox,
Celtics and
Bruins.
He started following our Tweets and decided to send some Wicked Good Cookies to his friends at Twitter. Yes, the
Twitter!! Our cookies are now being passed around the office and a picture of them was posted by one of their employees! Not only that, all 14,000+ tweeters who follow @Crystal from Twitter now know that their office is feasting on our cookies! and so i goes...
Pretty cool story, huh. We're still stumbling(no pun to
StumbleUpon) our way through this world of social media but we see what all the fuss is about and we are excited to play a role.
We'll keep tweeting, facebooking, blogging, and stumbling... We invite you to follow, share and advise. We'll be listening.
